Project Update 15th October 2009

Been a busy week…

Attended the NIACE briefing session in London on Monday and met with a lot of people who are running exciting projects, going to touch base with about 6 of them as they have some similarities with our project and I am sure we can learn some lessons from them.
Also found out that we can assume that we have all of the funding we requested subject to submitting a detailed work plan, budget and other minor stuff by… 16th October!!! (Good old NIACE, although to be fair they are wrestling with some impossible timescales) So guess what I am doing tomorrow.
Attended the Berkshire Neighbourhood Learning Centre Partnership meeting yesterday and briefed the management group. Key things I need from them at the moment are:
  • Do they have any people that might be Digital Learning Champions
  • What community Groups will they want us to work with
  • What publicity options might they have in the coming months
The presentation is downloadable from www.bnlcp.org.uk/project/berkshire-digital-learning-champions-transformation-fund We agreed that empirical will manage the project n a day to day operational basis and report back to the Management Group at their regular meetings (next one 25th November)
I am also talking to people who expressed an interest in becoming a Digital Learning Champion next week. 11 people responded. See http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=SoawNtfzszE7RAf7ALZv_2bQ_3d_3d
Tasks for Next Week:
  • Submit Workplan and Budget to NIACE
  • Interview potential Digital Learning Champions
  • Order and build equipment
  • Develop evaluation plan
