Week 3 and its getting pretty hectic here.
This week we have:
Arranged the Kick Off conference on 12th November at Blue Mountain Golf Club Bracknell. For more details see Attend This Event
So far 10 people have booked but we are expecting a few more once half term is out the way and people return to their bulging in-boxes!
We have also been preparing the technology to support the project. We have just taken delivery of the new Kodak Zi8 Digital video camera, which is as light as a feather and has an external microphone socket so it should make capturing those video case studies a cinch (well once I have worked out how to use it it will!!)
We will be using Samsung NC20's for our Digital Learning Champions and we are just building these to use Google Chrome and Google Docs. so that our champions and the people they work with can get to grips with 'Cloud Computing' and have truly portable documents follow them wherever they go after the project has ended. Is it me or is this a bit like having a 28k modem again!! Still we need to find out what does AND doesn't work.
I have spoken to a dozen people about helping us as Digital Learning Champions and will be inviting them all to a meeting here at the University next Wednesday 4th November, to start getting the programme in place and start delivering soon.
